     The Mission of the Atlantic 17 Class Association is to foster open water competition and cruising in the Atlantic 17 Class open water rowing boats. The functions of this Association will include:

* Publishing of a quarterly newsletter, which will include schedules and information regarding competitions and cruises

* Sanctioning of competitions and cruises in the Atlantic 17 Class

* Individual and Club memberships in the Association

* Licensing of builders and kit suppliers for the Atlantic 17 Class

* Authorization of plans, specifications, and any changes, for the Atlantic 17 design

* Sponsorship of demonstrations, seminars, courses, lectures, and outings designed to introduce new rowers to the Atlantic 17 and open water rowing
