16' Skiff

    At 15 feet 10 inches by 6 feet 4 inches, this is a versatile boat for work or play. It is large  and rugged enough for small scale commercial fishing, oystering, crabbing, and for serious workboat service.  At the same time, our 16 foot skiff is the ideal boat for family outtings and recreational fishing .
    Construction of this boat is of 1/2 inch topside and 3/4 inch bottom plywood over 4x4 bottom and 2x6 topside frames. Standard boats are built of high quality AC Fir plywood, with AB or marine grade available for the extra material cost. All fasteners are of stainless steel, with all hull joints bedded in 3M 5200 marine sealant and reinforced with 15 oz biaxial fiberglass tape set in epoxy.
     Side decks of 3/4 inch plywood add stiffness to thhull, and enclose the foam flotation. The cockpit configuration is thus kept completely open. The high freeboard of this boat provides good seaworthiness and comfort for her crew.
