12' Scow

 

     At 12 feet by 5 feet 6 inches, this scow is an ideal fishing, hunting, back creek kind of boat. The flared topsides and angled bow transom make it a dry and seaworthy boat.

     Construction is of 3/8 inch fir plywood topsides and 1/2 inch bottom, over fir chines. The chine and hull joints are epoxy-glass taped, using 15 oz. biaxial cloth. All fasteners are of stainless steel, and all hull joints are bedded in 3M 5200 marine sealant. Additional structure is provided by the double-thickness rails and plywood fore deck. Dual 1x6 keels protect the bottom from beaching wear.
